How to use it

  1. 1

Add an image or use your camera

Choose, drop or paste a PNG, JPEG or WebP image to preview and check it automatically. On a phone, start the camera and point it at a code.

  2. 2

    Inspect the contents

Select a decoded code to see what it asks a device to do, things to review, its original contents and recognised fields. The camera stops when a code is read.

  3. 3

    Follow a lead

Copy the original contents, copy a supported address defanged for sharing, or choose an identifier to investigate in Coeus. No account or extension is needed to read the results.

What the results mean

QR codes can hold more than links.

Review web addresses, Wi-Fi settings, email and SMS instructions, phone numbers, locations, common vCard and calendar fields, and supported payment requests. Uninterpreted formats retain their decoded text and bytes.

Decoded does not mean safe.

Things to review explains observable features of the supplied contents. It does not visit destinations, follow redirects, check reputation or establish maliciousness. Links, network settings, contacts and payments are never activated.

Image quality affects decoding.

Small, blurred, damaged or obscured codes may be unreadable. Results are limited to eight standard QR codes per image or camera frame; they may not include every code present.

Camera images stay in this browser.

Camera access starts only when you choose Start camera and allow it. Images and decoded contents are processed locally and are not uploaded.
