Coeus

Terms

Use Coeus lawfully and check important findings yourself.

Last changed

These terms apply to the Coeus browser extension and this website. By using them, you agree to these terms. Coeus accounts were discontinued on 6 November 2026; everything the extension keeps is stored in your browser.

Software licence

Coeus is proprietary software licensed under the Coeus Licence. You may install an official copy and use it for your own or your organisation's investigative work.

You may not redistribute, sell, host or modify Coeus, extract a copy from another installation, or use it to create a competing service, except where the law gives you that right.

Your source packs, saved entities and other material remain yours.

Responsible use

Use Coeus only for lawful work and for data or systems you are allowed to investigate. Do not use it to attack, harass or gain unauthorised access; interfere with this website; or send malware, credentials or personal data you have no right to process through it.

You decide which information to send to external sources. You are responsible for following their terms and for checking anything you share. A pack you host at a public address can be seen by anyone.

This website

This website and its free tools are provided as available. Features may change, and uninterrupted access is not guaranteed. Coeus does not store your sources, settings or Saved items for you, so keep your own copy of anything important.

External sources and results

The sources Coeus opens are independent services with their own terms and privacy policies. We do not control their availability or guarantee that their information is complete or accurate.

Treat every result or combined verdict as a lead to investigate, not a final finding or professional advice. You remain responsible for decisions made using it.

Privacy and analytics

Our privacy policy explains what is stored and sent. Usage analytics and crash reports can be switched off in the extension for each browser. Turning the switch off stops new analytics; it does not delete activity already received, which expires as the privacy policy describes.

We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

Warranty and liability

Coeus is provided without promises that it will always be available, error-free or suitable for a particular investigation.

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the author is not responsible for indirect or consequential loss, lost data, profits or business caused by using Coeus or relying on a result. Nothing in these terms limits rights or liability that the law does not allow us to limit.

The full software warranty and liability terms are in the Coeus Licence.

Ending use and changes

You can stop using Coeus at any time. The software licence ends if you breach it.

Material changes will be noted in the changelog. If you do not agree with a change, stop using Coeus.

Governing law and contact

These terms and the Coeus Licence are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

For questions, use the contact form. Do not include investigated entities, internal hostnames or customer data in a message.
