What it does

Coeus is a Chrome and Edge extension for people who investigate from their browser. Its side panel has tools for suspicious text, URLs, email headers, files and images. Paste a recognised indicator or scan the current page, then choose which of your enabled sources to open.

You can configure sources by indicator type and add a site you already search. A source that needs your login opens in your browser session; Coeus does not ask for its API key.

No account needed

Coeus has no accounts. Your sources, subscriptions, favourites, settings and Saved items are stored by the extension in your browser, and tool inputs stay in your browser session. Accounts were discontinued on 6 November 2026.

Principles

  • Keep the page usable while you inspect it.
  • Run local tools automatically when they have enough input; let you choose when to open external sources.
  • Show limits and missing access plainly.
  • Stay useful with no account and no API key.
